Good News!
Who couldn’t use some good news these days in the midst of current tumultuous times? What is the ultimate good news that can free us from worry, guilt, and bondage of sin? What is the good news that can bring us hope when we feel isolated and at the end of our strength? It is the Gospel Message, which literally means Good News; this message of truth: Jesus, the Son of God lived; He died; and He was raised to everlasting life through the love and power of God! Whoever believes this truth, asks for forgiveness of their sins and asks Jesus to be their Lord and Savior will not die but have everlasting life in Him.
Take time to meditate on the following scriptures which have given hope and brought millions to Jesus’ saving grace.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Romans 5:8 But God proves His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:10 With the heart one believes resulting in righteousness and with the mouth one confesses resulting in salvation.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believeth in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.
If you have not yet offered your life to Jesus and are now ready to take this life saving step, pray the following prayer and truly experience the “Good News” of life giving salvation!
Jesus, I believe that you are God’s son. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins. Forgive me for my sins and help me turn my life over to you. Come into my heart, for I accept you as my Lord and Savior. From this day forward let me feel your peace and rejoice in knowing my eternal life is secure in your hands. It is in your precious name, Jesus, that I pray! Amen!

Dear Neighbors
Dear Community Neighbors,
In this time of uncertainty and national and global concerns we want to reach out to you and let you know we are here for you and your family. The First Henderson United Methodist Church strives to be a caring community partner and to that end we actively pray for our community neighbors, our local and state leaders and our national leaders.
We pray that you know the love of Jesus Christ and have accepted him as your Lord and Savior. If you have, take strength and comfort in his words “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14: 27)
If you have not made a personal decision on where you will spend eternity, we encourage you to give the good news of the gospel message strong consideration. Whether you study the scripture individually or join in a class, worship service or Bible study, you will find hope and evidence of God’s love woven throughout His Word!
We are all stronger together! God created us to be in a relationship with him and with other believers so as to encourage and support one another. If you do not currently have a church home, maybe it’s time to see what’s out there that will meet your needs. We would love to see you in our church should that be your choice.
Whatever you decide is up to you, but please know that we will continue to hold you and all of our community neighbors in prayer!

FINDING INNER PEACE
Are you looking for hope?
Are you looking for joy?
Do you ever wonder what your life is all about?
Do you wonder or worry about what happens when your life on earth is over?
Here’s some great news; there’s a book that gives the solution and answers to each of these questions! It’s called The Bible and it is the best selling book of all time!
Did you know studies indicate people who believe in God, who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and who gather with likeminded believers, live happier and healthier lives. Not because they are protected from hardships, but because they have joy and a peace of mind that comes from knowing their life is secure in the promises of Jesus.
Don’t miss out on receiving the greatest gift you will ever be offered. You owe it to yourself ( and your eternal life) to take the time to research what the Bible has to say about your salvation and life everlasting through the free gift of God’s grace by the ultimate sacrifice of His son, Jesus.
Read the Bible; find a church that teaches and honors the truth of scripture; join with other believers in small group studies and receive the gift!
May you be blessed and feel the joy and hope that may be yours this very day!

Are You Having a Hard Time Finding The Truth?
In this day and age, finding the truth is becoming more and more difficult! People whom we should be able to have faith and trust in are lying straight to our face! (Even when the evidence is overwhelmingly to the contrary to what they are insisting we believe!)
Did you know God’s Word, as written in scripture, warns us of the rise of deception in the end times? No one knows when the end of this age will come but those familiar with Biblical prophecy feel that signs are emerging with more frequency and urgency indicating the end drawing nearer.
In end times it will be even more important to discern between truth and the deceit strewn by the secular world under Satan’s rule. The world wants to twist your mind and confuse you by claiming there is no absolute truth. Their “truth” is what an individual “thinks it is”, based on the person’s perception, their “reality ” or wish! Of course, reasonable and logical people know what is true, is true whether you believe it to be or not! Truth is not fluid, personalized or changing as our culture wants us to believe.
Here’s an example. A compass guides you in the wilderness by always pointing true north. It will help you find your way back home. You can count on it to be true. The arrow pointing north is trustworthy – it is true and does not change. It does not matter “what your reality is” and it doesn’t matter if you believe it or not – it is pointing north!
Satan wants to plant seeds of confusion in us as it will lead to divisiveness and. worse yet, doubt in everything we have been taught to believe in, based on evidence, even the Word of God!
The Bible is our compass!! It points us in the right direction – it points us on the narrow path home to our heavenly Father! That direction is set, it does not change with current times, culture, “individual reality” or preference! And yet many are being deceived and are attempting to re-write or reinterpret scripture. Don’t be deceived! Take time each day to dig into the treasures the Bible holds. Don’t take anyone’s word alone – research the truth of scripture yourself.
Jesus (Who is The Word) says “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Amen!
